Star midfielder Josh Kelly has been cleared to return for this Saturday’s top four clash against the Lions at the Gabba.
The vice-captain has missed the last five games with a calf injury but is set to bolster the GIANTS ahead of an important final three weeks of the home and away season.
A second GIANT is also set for a return to the field this weekend, with young ruck Nick Madden set to play his first VFL game since May this year.
The second-year GIANT was in impressive form before an ankle injury sidelined him.
The GIANTS’ other vice-captain, Stephen Coniglio, will be a test for the round 22 clash, with the star midfielder continuing to advance in his contact training with Thursday’s training session important as Coniglio looks to prove his fitness.
Meanwhile, key forward Jake Riccardi will miss the remainder of the home and away season after undergoing surgery on a dislocated finger last week. Wingman Isaac Cumming is also progressing well in a bid to return to the field for a potential finals campaign.
The GIANTS take on the Lions at the Gabba on Saturday at 1:45pm.
