The GIANTS will appeal Toby Bedford’s three-match suspension for rough conduct that was upheld at the Tribunal on Tuesday night.
Bedford was charged with rough conduct following a tackle on Tiger Tim Taranto in the final quarter of Sunday’s match, with the incident classified as careless conduct, severe impact and high contact.
The club appealed the suspension at the AFL Tribunal on Tuesday night, arguing Bedford had no other option in the circumstances and that if the Tribunal did find there was careless conduct, that the impact was not severe as per Tribunal guidelines.
The Tribunal deliberated, upholding the three-match ban.
The club will take the case to the Appeals Board.
The GIANTS take on the Suns at ENGIE Stadium on Saturday at 1:45pm.
