Daisy Walker’s new life as a GIANT has not gone quite to plan with the former Blue suffering a season-ending ACL injury last week.
The 22-year-old suffered the injury during match play last week, with scans confirming a ruptured ACL.
Walker joined the GIANTS as a delisted free agent in December and played all five games for the GIANTS in their undefeated VFLW campaign earlier this year.
GIANTS Executive General Manager, Football Strategy and Operations, Briana Harvey said the club was disappointed for the young GIANT
“Unfortunately, it’s one of those cruel injuries in our game, but everyone in the program will wrap their arms around Daisy and her family and support her every step of the way in her return to the field,” Harvey said.
“Daisy has been super impressive since arriving at the club and is very much a part of where we see this group going forward.
“She is the type of athlete that will tackle her rehab with professionalism and diligence and alongside our highly professional medical team I’m sure she’ll return to the field fitter and stronger than ever before.”
Walker will see the surgeon this week to determine the next steps and to begin her rehabilitation plan.
