GIANTS forward Callum Brown says his side needs to "toughen up" if it wants to rebound from a recent form slump.

The GIANTS have lost three of their last five games and are coming off a 27-point defeat to the Swans ahead of their Saturday night match against Adelaide.

A win against the 15th-placed Crows seems feasible on paper, but Brown insists the GIANTS will need to bring the heat from the first bounce at Adelaide Oval.

The Crows are battling their own form decline and are out to snap a three-game losing run.

They could do just that if the GIANTS start as slow as they did against the Swans, when they fell victim to a 10-goal pile-on.

"The last game, they (the Swans) were just tougher and harder, and they wanted the ball more," Brown said on Friday.

"We just didn't bring it in the first half and they just got away with it too easy.

"It came from everybody - from the forwards, mids and backs.

"Everyone just needs to toughen up a little bit and really stick in and just show what we've been training throughout the week."

However, it's not all doom and gloom in the GIANTS camp.

If their start against the Swans showed Adam Kingsley's men their deficits, Brown says their five-goal finish proved his side can still sting.

"After the game, 'Kingers' wasn't really upset about it. He was more hyped about what he'd seen," Brown said.

"He was excited of how we played in the last quarter and how we can really show how damaging we can be against the Swans, never mind like everyone else. 

"They're the best team in it at the minute and that clearly shows, they're a league above everyone else right now.

"But we topped the back in the last quarter. We showed that they're just like every other team."

Kingsley and Adelaide coach Matthew Nicks have both opted for a three-player change for Saturday's match-up.

Stephen Coniglio is set to cause trouble for the Crows' midfield after recovering from a shoulder injury, while Harry Perryman and Isaac Cumming return to bolster the GIANTS' defence. 

Crows forward Elliott Himmelberg has been recalled to the side and will take on brother and GIANTS defender Harry, joined by Taylor Walker and ruckman Rory O'Brien.

Walker, the Crows' all-time leading goalkicker, hasn't played since suffering a back injury during their loss to Hawthorn in June.
