GIANTS veteran Callan Ward will return for this Saturday’s clash with the Hawks, after missing the club’s last match in round 11 due to illness.
In other good news, a quartet of GIANTS will all return to full training this week with Isaac Cumming, James Leake, Adam Kennedy and Nathan Wardius all participating in the full team schedule.
Kennedy has spent the past 14 months in rehab after the inaugural GIANT suffered a hamstring injury at the back end of his ACL recovery.
Cumming exited rehab earlier this season to return for two VFL games, but a hamstring injury further delayed his return to the AFL side.
Draftees Leake and Wardius have both been in modified training since early January, with the youngsters set to join full training for the first time since joining the club late last year.
Reliable defender Jack Buckley and vice-captain Josh Kelly are both progressing well from their respective calf injuries and are on track to return for the GIANTS’ clash with Port Adelaide in round 14.
Braydon Preuss has returned to the injury list, having undergone another surgery on a chronic back issue on Monday, while Nick Madden had successful surgery on his ankle last week and is expected to be sidelined for several months.
The GIANTS will travel to Launceston later this week to take on the Hawks at UTAS Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
