The GIANTS have made four changes to their VFL side for Saturday’s clash with Frankston in Blacktown.
Jacob Wehr headlines the inclusions, with the classy winger with 22 AFL games of experience set to bolster the VFL side for its clash with the Dolphins.
Saturday will be the first time Wehr features at VFL level this year after being omitted for the AFL side’s clash with Essendon on Saturday. Wehr played in the club’s opening eight AFL clashes prior to this weekend.
Wehr is joined in the VFL side by Taine Moraschi, Daniel Gauci and newcomer Josh Smith.
A key forward from Victoria, Smith will play his first game in GIANTS colours on Saturday after joining the club’s VFL list only just this week after impressing for the Dromana Tigers in the Mornington Peninsula Nepean Football League.
The four inclusions come into Saturday’s side in place of Conor Stone and Nick Haynes - who have both been recalled to the AFL side - as well as Isaac Cumming (injured) and Joel Rush (omitted).
The VFL side will consist of 14 AFL-listed players for the clash with Frankston, with Xavier O’Halloran headlining the GIANTS’ AFL contingent.
Sitting at 3-2 and in eighth spot on the VFL table, the GIANTS will be looking to rebound with a win on Saturday after their three-game winning streak was snapped last week with a 10-point loss to the Swans at the SCG.
The GIANTS will host the Dolphins at 11:05am on Saturday at Blacktown International SportsPark.
