An All-Australian duo will return for Saturday’s blockbuster Sydney Derby clash at the SCG.
Toby Greene and Sam Taylor will return to bolster a GIANTS side fresh off a 54-point win over the Lions, with the pair to face the Swans in the 27th edition of the Sydney Derby.
Taylor has missed the past two games with concussion, whilst Greene sat out last week’s ANZAC Day victory with a one-match suspension.
Bringing 319 games of experience, the duo are regarded two of the GIANTS’ key players in what shapes to be one of the most-anticipated Derbies in recent times.
Darcy Jones has kept his spot in Adam Kingsley’s side following an impressive debut and two-goal contribution in last week’s round seven win at Manuka Oval.
Jones will be one of two players – alongside draftee Harvey Thomas – set to line up in their first-ever Derby on Saturday.
Leek Aleer and Xavier O’Halloran have been omitted for the returning duo of Greene and Taylor, while Stephen Coniglio will miss this week’s match with a knee injury sustained in round five. The vice-captain is expected to return for round nine.
With both sides sitting inside the top four with just one loss each this season, the stage is set for a thrilling Sydney Derby XXVII.
The game will get underway at 1:45pm on Saturday at the SCG.
