The Greater Western Sydney GIANTS have confirmed that Callan Ward will join our club for our inaugural AFL season in 2012.
GIANTS CEO Dale Holmes said that the club was looking forward to officially welcoming Callan to the GIANTS this Wednesday with a press conference at Breakfast Point at 11am.
Holmes said that while the club’s priority is to always keep members informed and ensure that they are a part of exciting announcements at the club, these were exceptional circumstances.
“We understand that there is a lot of interest and excitement that comes with these announcements however in order to give Callan the time to meet with his teammates, family and friends, we will be holding a press conference on Wednesday.
“Callan will be joined by myself, Kevin Sheedy and some of his new teammates.
“GIANTS Foundation Members will be sent a personalized video message from Callan on Wednesday and the press conference can also be viewed LIVE on our website.
“We want to make sure that our members are always our priority and we want them to be involved in the excitement and also get to know the players that will be representing our club in our first ever AFL season.”
Holmes also said that the club’s focus is recruiting the best talent possible to build a strong team for our members and supporters.
“We understand the disappointment that the Western Bulldogs and its’ supporters will experience at this announcement. However we have a responsibility to our members and supporters to do everything we can to attract the best talent available and build a strong AFL club for the future.”
