Nick Haynes and Lachlan Keeffe will bolster a strong VFL line-up for the GIANTS’ round four clash with Werribee at Avalon Airport Oval on Saturday afternoon.

Inaugural GIANT Haynes, a 205 AFL game veteran and 2020 All Australian and Kevin Sheedy Medallist, returns to the team after being the travelling emergency for the AFL side’s clash with the Saints in Canberra last week.

His inclusion further enhances a strong VFL outfit looking to make it back-to-back wins on Saturday following an impressive 46-point win over Sandringham last week.

Keeffe also returns to add further experience and versatility against the Tigers after the 204cm utility sat out last weekend’s game for the birth of his son.

Haynes and Keeffe come into the side to replace former AFL co-captain Callan Ward and emerging defender Leek Aleer who have both been selected for the AFL side’s clash with Carlton at Marvel Stadium on Saturday following strong VFL performances.

Billy Clark and James Creighton also come into the GIANTS’ VFL side in place of Marc Sheather (suspension) and Harper Montgomery (leg).

Sheather will miss four games after being found guilty of rough conduct against Sandringham’s Max Heath last week, while Montgomery will be sidelined for around 10 weeks with a leg fracture sustained in the win over the Zebras.

The GIANTS’ VFL side will feature 15 AFL-listed players against the Tigers on Saturday, with Max Gruzewski, Darcy Jones and Phoenix Gothard among a host of players looking to continue their push for AFL selection through the VFL.

The GIANTS and the Tigers will face off at Avalon Airport Oval at 12:05pm on Saturday.
