The GIANTS’ highly anticipated Opening Round clash with Collingwood is officially a sell-out.
All general public, standing room and hospitality tickets have been exhausted for the historic match, which is tracking to be one of the highest attended games in ENGIE Stadium (formerly GIANTS Stadium) history.
Opening the season against the reigning premiers, the orange army is expected to be at its largest on Saturday night as the GIANTS welcome Collingwood to town as part of the AFL’s first-ever Opening Round fixture.
The sell-out comes following record-breaking membership sales for the club, reaching 30,041 members in the fastest time in GIANTS history.
“It’s fantastic to see fans excitedly endorse the Opening Round concept and the fact the match is officially a sell-out is testament to the exciting brand of football we’ve shown and the momentum building under coach Adam Kingsley,” GIANTS CEO David Matthews said.
“We’re excited to be part of the AFL’s inaugural Opening Round and can’t wait to welcome what could be a record crowd to ENGIE Stadium as we look to test ourselves against the benchmark of the competition from last year.
“We are so proud to have over 30,000 members on board ahead of our first game of the season and we’re looking forward to our proud and passionate fans packing out ENGIE Stadium on Saturday to create an exciting atmosphere in what’s sure to be a cracking game of football to open a huge season for the club.”
The only way to access a reserved seat is by purchasing a Sydney Gold membership today.
The highest attendance ever recorded at ENGIE Stadium came in round 17, 2017 when 21,924 fans attended the GIANTS’ Sydney Derby clash with the Swans.
All attendees to this weekend’s match must hold a valid match day ticket or membership. There will be no ticket sales or redemptions available at the gate.
With gates opening at 6pm for a 7:30pm bounce, GIANTS fans are encouraged to plan their trip ahead of time and arrive early to beat the crowd.
Trains run regularly to Olympic Park and the venue is a short walk from the station. If you have to drive, travel with your group and pre-book your parking online here to secure a space - available until 11:59pm the night before the match unless sold out prior.
