About Toyota AFL Dream Team

Dream Team. For most, it’s the nickname given to the 1992 American Olympic Basketball Team. But on a more local level, for many, it’s a way of life. Toyota AFL Dream Team is a fun, free game, designed by Virtual Sports, built around actual performances of players, as recorded by the AFLs official statisticians, Champion Data.

All you need to do to play Toyota AFL Dream Team is sign up as a coach of your own team and select real players, with a realistic salary cap, and your team scores points according to each of your selected players' stats. If you’ve never given it a go, it’s an exciting way to keep track of your favourite players, as well as compete against your friends and family in a competition that will show who has the true football knowledge.

GWS GIANTS vs Collingwood Review
This week, six Giants broke the magically 100 point barrier. Adam Treloar, Jonathan Giles, Tom Scully, Toby Greene, Curtly Hampton and Devon Smith all found plenty of the ball against the pies, to post some big numbers for their Dream Team coaches. For the young ball magnets in Treloar and Greene, it was their 30+ possession games that drew them plenty of points, and for Devon Smith it was his three goals combined with his prolific tackling that helped him over the line.

Dream Team coaches have relied on many GWS Giants this season, with Giles being the one of the most selected ruckmen at the start of the season, and Green, Treloar, Cameron and Smith being popular rookies providing bench cover.

It was Adam Treloar’s game that really stood out on the weekend, with 37 possessions and nine marks putting him top of the table for the Giants with a massive 121 point game, the third highest of the match, behind only Brownlow Medallist Dane Swan, and (if you were to listen to Kevin Sheedy) possible future resident of Breakfast Point, Travis Cloke. It was Treloar’s second game in a row where he has posted more than 100 points in a game, having scored 106 last week against Fremantle.

The young gun has amassed 63 possessions and nineteen marks over the past fortnight, which is an outstanding effort from a debut player. With statistics like that, it's no wonder he was the GIANTS sixth nomination for the NAB AFL Rising Star award!

Next Week
The young Giants will celebrate Kevin Sheedy’s 1000th match as AFL coach and player this week (the first person in AFL history to do so) as they take on the power of Port Adelaide. The Power went down to Fremantle last week at home in Adelaide, and Kane Cornes was the only player to score 100 points or more. In what could be a battle of the midfield, the young trio of Toby Greene, Adam Treloar and the possible return of Stephen Coniglio could rack up quite a few possessions between them, making them great players to have on your field should they be needed.

Also of interest will be the potential brother vs. brother clash, with Chad Cornes facing his old team, and brother Kane, at his new home in Western Sydney. Cornes has had a few big games this season, with scores of 110 or more on three occasions, and he may just feel like he has something to prove on Saturday afternoon out at Skoda Stadium.

It’s never too late to start up your own Toyota AFL Dream Team, so pick a team, play your favourite players, and start having fun today. Oh yeah, and you may just have a shot at the $500 weekly prize. Click here to start your team.
