The GIANTS joined forces with community partner the Steve Waugh Foundation to raise awareness of children and families affected by rare diseases.

Foundation Ambassador Renee Eliades and former Australian cricket captain Steve Waugh showed their support for the GIANTS when we took on the Eagles at ŠKODA Stadium.

GIANTS fans joined Chairman Tony Shepherd and Steve Waugh in a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday to celebrate the 21st birthday of foundation ambassador Renee Eliades.

Renee suffers from a rare disorder known as Geleophysic Dysplasia (dwarfism), a condition that affects one in a million people.

The GIANTS are proud supporters of the Steve Waugh Foundation which strives to improve the quality of life of children and families who are affected by rare diseases just like Renee.

The Foundation has already supported over 200 families through generous donations from Patrons, corporate partners and supporters. Over a million dollars has been used for medication, treatment, specialised equipment and financial support.
