Toby Bedford has been cleared to play in Saturday’s elimination final.
Small forward Toby Bedford has been cleared to take on St Kilda in Saturday’s elimination final at the MCG.
Bedford faced the AFL Tribunal on Monday after being charged with rough conduct following a collision with Blue Zac Fisher in the round 24 match over a week ago.
After the Tribunal upheld the suspension, the GIANTS appealed the decision at the Appeals Board on Thursday, who cleared Bedford to play.
“We feel vindicated by the decision from the Appeal Board,” Chief Executive Officer David Matthews said.
“We have maintained from the outset that this was a football act, and we believe we established the facts clearly on two occasions.
“We look forward to Toby taking his rightful place in the side for Saturday’s final.”
The GIANTS take on St Kilda in the second elimination final on Saturday, September 9 at 3:20pm at the MCG.
