Not only did the GIANTS’ record-breaking round 23 win over Essendon keep their finals dream alive, but it also allowed the club the chance to thank the Orange Army in style as the GIANTS celebrated the best fans in the league during Members Thank You Round. 



While the GIANTS were creating records on field against the Bombers, registering their biggest-ever score and biggest-ever winning margin, the red-hot round 23 performance also saw the club celebrate its off-field success and specifically the lifeblood of the club, its members. 



Reaching 32,704 members (and counting) earlier this month, the GIANTS set a new club record in season 2023 while topping 30,000 members for the fifth consecutive season. 



In their return to GIANTS Stadium in round 23, the GIANTS took the opportunity to say thank you to the loyal, loud and passionate fans that make up the Orange Army with several special initiatives.  



Here are some of the ways the GIANTS showed their appreciation for the best fans in the AFL: 



Pre-game Changeroom Experience

As part of the GIANTS way of saying thank you, 15 GIANTS members were randomly selected to participate in an exclusive pre-game experience. The rare opportunity provided the members with a special behind-the-scenes look into game day, allowing them into the change rooms to soak up all the action just moments before the team ran out to take on the Bombers. 



On-field Signed Jumper Presentation

Twenty-four lucky GIANTS members were celebrated on the turf of GIANTS Stadium just prior to the first bounce, with each member personally presented a signed jumper from rising star Finn Callaghan. See below for a a gallery of all members who received this opportunity. 



Guard of Honour

Member Thank You Round allowed the GIANTS to acknowledge the amazing support from a select group of foundation members who were given the opportunity to form a guard of honour and cheer the boys onto the field ahead of the clash with Essendon. The special opportunity was a way of thanking those members who have been with us from the very start. 



Bring a Mate Ticket Offer



In an exclusive round 23 offer, GIANTS members were presented with a $5 ‘Bring a Mate’ ticketing offer. Hundreds of members jumped at the special thank you offer, bringing all their friends along to experience the big big sound of a GIANTS home game. 



Special Post-Match Event

As part of Member Thank You Round festivities, hundreds of excited GIANTS fans accepted the special invitation to join GIANTS players back at the VAILO Community Centre for a special post-match event full of family fun. Giving members the chance to mingle with players, as well as hear first-hand from Jake Riccardi that he’d signed a new three-year deal to remain with the club, the special event also included numerous kids' activities followed by a player meet-and-greet and signing session. The exclusive event was the GIANTS’ way of saying thank you to our valued and passionate members for another home and away season of unwavering support. 



Ultimate Members Bar with Player Appearances



To thank our ultimate GIANT members, we opened the Ultimate GIANTS Bar where members could relax and enjoy the game. With all food and drink discounted by 15 per cent, as well as the opportunity to chat with GIANTS Cooper Hamilton and Darcy Jones, it was a perfect way to thank some our ultimate members who also received a complimentary stubby holder on entry and scarf at half-time. 



Members Bar with Giveaways

While every GIANTS member gets 10 per cent off in the Members Bar at GIANTS Stadium, we increased this to 15 per cent for the clash with the Bombers. All members in the bar at half time also received a complimentary GIANTS stubby holder.



Five Members of the Match

Throughout the season we've been awarding one lucky member as the Member of the Match at each home game, for Member Thank You Round we were excited to surprise five lucky GIANTS members with Member of the Match with each of these members receiving their 2024 membership free of charge! 



Half-Time Giveaways

Half-time was a bustle of energy, with giveaways handed out in the members bay during our half time dance cam. More than 200 scarves were handed out  to add to the tsunami of orange in the crowd. 



Toyo Tires Field Club

Four lucky families were selected to have the best seats in the house, our Toyo Field Club. Right on the boundary, these families sat amongst the action and were treated with a food and beverage service. 



Banner Raising

Some of our members were specially selected to join the GIANTS amazing cheer squad to assist with raising the round 23 banner. On one side the banner was dedicated to all of our record-breaking 2023 members, whilst the other side clearly put our opposition off their game!
