Two GIANTS are set to be available for selection ahead of Sunday’s crucial clash against Carlton on Sunday evening.
Zippy forward Xavier O’Halloran is fully fit following a thumb injury that has sidelined him for the past six matches.
The 23-year-old, who has kicked 11 goals in his 12 games this season, has spent the past six weeks running before being cleared to return to contact this week.
He’ll be available for selection of this week’s match, alongside defender Nick Haynes who missed last week’s win over the Bombers with illness.
Second-year GIANT Finn Callaghan will also increase his training from Wednesday after the achilles soreness that has caused him to miss the past two matches has eased.
Ruck Braydon Preuss is also in full training after missing last week’s VFL match with general soreness after playing his first match of the season the previous weekend.
GIANTS Head of Medical, James Rahme, said:
“It’s great to have Xavier and Nick available for selection again this week.
“Nick has recovered from his illness and trained well over the weekend while Xavier has been doing a mountain of running but has now been cleared for contact.
“The soreness Finn has been having in his achilles has steadily improved but we’ll know more as his running loads increase across the week, with Friday’s main training to be a big test for him.”
The GIANTS take on Carlton at Marvel Stadium on Sunday evening.
