The GIANTS will challenge Toby Bedford’s suspension for rough conduct, while fellow small forward Brent Daniels will miss Sunday’s game against the Power after accepting his own suspension.
The pair were charged by the Match Review Officer on Sunday night following several incidents out of Sydney Derby XXVI on Saturday.
Daniels was charged with rough conduct for collecting Swan Jake Lloyd high late in Saturday’s contest, with the incident graded as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact.
Bedford was also charged with rough conduct following a tackle on Swans Ollie Florent, where he earned a free kick for holding the ball.
The incident was also classified as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact.
Based on advice from the club’s legal team, the GIANTS have accepted Daniels’ one-match ban but will challenge Bedford’s at the AFL tribunal.
The hearing is expected to take place on Tuesday evening.
The GIANTS travel to Adelaide Oval to take on Port Adelaide on Sunday at 4:40pm.
