Nick Haynes, Jesse Hogan and Phil Davis are all expected to return to the field this weekend while draftees Jason Gillbee and Toby McMullin will also make their comebacks.

Star defender Haynes rolled his ankle at the end of the GIANTS’ round 14 win over Fremantle, but with the bye week and a big training session under his belt, the important high-flyer looks set to return for Sunday’s clash with the Demons in Alice Springs.

Also set to put his hand up for selection is key forward Jesse Hogan, who was a late withdrawal from the Dockers victory after reporting calf soreness. Both players trained through the bye week to ensure they’ll be ready to return this weekend.

Also set to return from a stint on the sidelines is veteran Phil Davis, who has missed several weeks with a calf injury. Davis is likely to return via the VFL, with the side taking on the Demons in Melbourne.

Draftee Toby McMullin, who injured his groin in the VFL’s last match, will also return to the field this week while fellow draftee Jason Gillbee will return from a concussion sustained in round 12.

Small forward Brent Daniels continues to progress in his rehabilitation from his minor hamstring injury and is hopeful for a return in round 17.

The GIANTS’ AFL side take on Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in Alice Springs on Sunday while the VFL sides clash in Melbourne at Casey Fields.
