The GIANTS’ AFL Women’s team have made just one change to the side that will take on the undefeated Brisbane Lions in Queensland on Saturday.
The GIANTS have re-called defender Alex Saundry who was omitted from the round three side after playing the opening two games of the NAB AFL Women’s competition.
The 24-year old Victorian has brought a wealth of experience to the GIANTS since joining the club as a free agent from VFWL side Melbourne University.
Standing at 175cm tall, Saundry played across the backline in her first two games and is known for her leadership on and off the field.
A player agent for Connors Sports off the field, Saundry replaces forward Jacinda Barclay who was suspended for rough conduct following the GIANTS’ draw with Fremantle last weekend.
Barclay accepted a one-match suspension with an early guilty plea and will be available to play in the GIANTS’ next game against Melbourne at Blacktown International Sportspark on Friday, March 3.
The GIANTS take on the undefeated Brisbane Lions at South Pine Sports Complex in Queensland with the game broadcast live on Fox Footy (channel 504) and AFL.com.au from 4:30pm AEDT.
