The GIANTS have congratulated Andrew Dillon on his appointment as AFL Chief Executive.
GIANTS Chief Executive, David Matthews, said: “We congratulate Andrew on this appointment and look forward to continuing to work with him in his capacity as AFL Chief Executive.
“We have worked closely together in the AFL for over 20 years, including 10 years on the AFL Executive together, and during that time we collaborated on the list establishment rules for the Suns and the GIANTS and worked closely with inaugural GIANTS CEO Dale Holmes on some of the building blocks for Team GWS, that later became the GIANTS.
“Andrew has a great understanding of our club, the community game and ultimately the opportunity for the game more broadly in New South Wales and the ACT. He is a great listener and collaborator and our club is looking forward to his leadership.
“We will take the opportunity in due course to further thank and recognise Gillon McLachlan’s contribution to the AFL as Chief Executive.”
GIANTS Chairman, Tony Shepherd AO, added: "Football has been a defining aspect of Andrew's life and he has served the game incredibly well at all levels to date.
"We welcome Andrew's appointment and look forward to continuing what is an outstanding, collaborative relationship with him. We will also continue to advocate keenly for the growth of the game in NSW and the ACT, which further enhances our code from the grassroots to the elite levels.”
