The GIANTS have added six players to their 26-man squad to travel to Adelaide for Gather Round.
Number one pick Aaron Cadman, tough midfielder Xavier O’Halloran, small forward James Peatling, ruck Kieren Briggs, wingman Ryan Angwin and last week’s sub, Cooper Hamilton, have all been named in the extended squad.
Small forward Brent Daniels has been managed and will miss Sunday’s clash against the Hawks while young forward Conor Stone has been omitted.
Key forward Cadman could play his first AFL game with the 19-year-old kicking four goals over the opening two rounds of the VFL before missing last week’s game as an emergency for the AFL side.
Hamilton has played three games at AFL level in his second season, starting two of them as the sub.
Kingsley has also included four names who impressed in the VFL’s strong win over Coburg last weekend.
O’Halloran returned via the VFL from a quad injury he suffered late in pre-season, racking up 22 disposals, 10 clearances and a goal. Briggs also impressed in the same game with 27 hit-outs, 24 disposals and 16 clearances.
Peatling returned to the VFL last week after playing the opening three rounds at AFL level and impressed with his pressure, collecting 16 touches and a goal while Angwin played an important role on the wing, impacting defensively and driving the ball offensively out of the back half.
The GIANTS will name their final team on Friday at 5pm.
