In a huge boost for the GIANTS on the eve of the 2023 season, young star Tom Green has put pen to paper on a new four-year deal with the club.
The Canberran, who came through the GIANTS Academy, will remain a GIANT until at least the end of 2027.
The grandson of four-time Richmond premiership great Michael, Green has committed to the club he has called home since being drafted at pick 10 in the 2019 national draft.
The 22-year-old has played 45 games across his three seasons in the competition so far, improving every year and establishing himself as one of the best young talents in the game.
The driven and competitive beast, who is known for his elite handball skills, was recently elevated into the GIANTS’ leadership group in a sign of his potential on and off the field.
GIANTS General Manager of Football, Jason McCartney, said securing Green’s signature was a high priority for the club.
“Tom is one of the best young talents in the game and as someone who has come through the GIANTS Academy, we were keen to secure his services long-term and we’re really pleased to have done that before the season has started,” McCartney said.
“He’s a fantastic player with a drive to succeed and he’s had a brilliant pre-season on the training track, which we can’t wait to see translate into games over the coming weeks.
“He’s not only growing from strength to strength on the field but his elevation into our leadership group this season is a well-earned recognition of the influence he has within our group.
“Tom’s signature on a four-year deal is a fantastic endorsement of our new program under new head coach Adam Kingsley.”
