GIANTS midfielder Dylan Shiel will be sidelined for 8-10 weeks after having surgery on a torn lateral meniscus.
Shiel had surgery on his right knee on Friday, which will most likely see him miss the rest of the home and away season.
GIANTS Head of Athletic Performance David Joyce said: “Dylan’s surgery was a success with some of the meniscus taken out of his right knee.
“Due to the location of the the tear, we will be taking a conservative approach to look after Dylan’s knee in the long term.
“It’s highly unlikely Dylan will play again during the home and away season this year, and we will reassess beyond that.”
