The Greater Western Sydney GIANTS have welcomed the AFL’s announcement of the Round 23 fixture with the GIANTS allotted the prime slot of Saturday night against North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium.
GIANTS Chief Executive David Matthews said it was the ideal way to finish the Premiership season.
“We’re pleased to be playing in the Saturday night free to air slot that will expose the GIANTS to a significant national audience,” Mr Matthews said.
“The AFL made it clear to us the rationale for our game against the Kangaroos being played on Saturday night rather than Friday night and and we accept this.
“We’ll continue to work with the AFL to get as much prime time coverage as possible and hope to play the club’s first Friday night game in the not too distant future."
The GIANTS match against North Melbourne will be played at Etihad Stadium on Saturday, August 27 at 7.25pm. The match will be broadcast nationally on Channel 7 and 7mate.
