Midfielder Xavier O’Halloran has put pen to paper on a new one-year deal with the GIANTS.
A popular member of the GIANTS playing group, the 22-year-old continued to work his way into the best 22 this season, after being selected at pick 22 in the 2018 NAB AFL Draft.
He has played primarily in the midfield in his 33 games for the club, kicking six goals along the way - including 14 games this season.
With a new senior coach at the helm, O’Halloran is looking forward to continuing his career at the GIANTS.
“I’m really happy to be staying at the GIANTS,” O’Halloran said.
“I love the club and it’s a really special group to be a part of.
“We know the program is going to look different with Adam Kingsley taking over and I’m looking forward to getting stuck into pre-season.”
GIANTS General Manager of Football, Jason McCartney, was pleased to offer O’Halloran a new contract.
“We’re pleased to have Xavier remain with the club for at least another season,” McCartney said.
“He’s a hard worker on the field, but he also adds a lot to the group off it – he has great energy, and we love that about him.
“He’s still developing, and we look forward to seeing what he can do in 2023.”
O’Halloran’s signing comes off the back of a successful trade period for the GIANTS which saw the club finish with four selections inside the top 20 for next month’s NAB AFL Draft – including the number one pick – as well as securing a trade for sought-after small forward Toby Bedford.
