Midfielder Emily Pease has been named as a round six nominee for the Season Seven NAB AFLW Rising Star.
The 20-year-old was among the best for the GIANTS on Saturday, booting the sides first two goals of the game.
She finished the day with 2-goals, 10-disposals, and 4-tackles, as she helped her side sing the song on the final siren.
Saturday’s game was just the 15th of Pease’s career.
Pease joined the GIANTS via pick 29 in the 2020 NAB AFLW Draft, drafted from the Belconnen Magpies.
She debuted earlier this year in round two of season six and has not missed a game since.
Coach Cam Bernasconi was stoked to see Pease named as a Rising Star.
“We’ve come off a tough week, so to only get the win on the weekend but the individual accolade for Em as well is really uplifting, he said.
“She got her chance earlier this year and she’s gone from strength to strength since doing so.
“She had a really strong pre-season, so if I’m being honest, I’m not too surprised to see her name alongside this nomination.
“We’ll celebrate this not just for Em but for our entire group. We speak about the growth and future of this group and Em, along with a large portion of our squad, is a great representation of the young talent that we have and it’s going to be really exciting to see what it can all evolve in to.”
The GIANTS take on the undefeated Collingwood Magpies this Sunday at Victoria Park.
