The AFL have announced that - for the first time ever - all 18 AFL and AFLW clubs will play the same opposition in men’s and women’s over the same weekend.
The AFLW pre-season game will align with round 22 of the AFL Toyota Premiership Season, held from Friday, August 12 to Sunday, August 14.
The GIANTS' AFLW side will take on the Western Bulldogs in the AFLW pre-season game on Saturday, August 13 at Whitten Oval in Melbourne at 11:30am.
The AFL team will then also take on the Bulldogs that same day, with the round 22 match beginning at 1:45pm at Marvel Stadium.
This will be the GIANTS' only official practice match ahead of the AFLW season. The club will also play a match simulation against the Swans on Friday, August 5 at Tramway Oval (outside the SCG) at 6pm.
AFLW season seven will begin in the last week of August with the GIANTS to open their season, also against the Bulldogs, at IKON Park.
