Another young local star has recommitted, with Ally Dallaway re-signing with the GIANTS through to the end of season eight of the NAB AFLW competition.
Dallaway joined the GIANTS as an injury replacement player and despite being the last player onto the list, she was one of the club’s most consistent performers of season six.
Selected for the opening round match, the 23-year-old went on to play all 10 games in her debut season, averaging 10.2 disposals and 5.3 tackles.
Her performance made headlines league-wide, with Dallaway nominated for the AFL Players Association’s Best First Year Player award.
GIANTS Head of Women’s Football, Briana Harvey, said the club is delighted to re-sign Dallaway.
“She’s fitted in seamlessly since joining the club, bringing the right work ethic and drive and that was evident in her early debut and ongoing selection,” said Harvey.
“Ally came out of the AFL Sydney competition and participated in our winter program before joining the club full-time which is a great testament of the pathways to the elite level being developed in NSW.
“She’s a raw and dynamic talent and with another pre-season under her belt, we look forward to seeing where she can take her game.”
Dallaway joins fellow young stars Emily Pease and Jess Doyle in signing two-year deals heading into season seven of the NAB AFLW competition.
Season seven of the NAB AFLW competition begins in August, with pre-season commencing next week.
