The Greater Western Sydney GIANTS congratulate Andrew Pridham on becoming Chairman of the Sydney Swans.

GIANTS Chairman Tony Shepherd said he looked forward to working with Mr Pridham and the Swans to advance the interests of the game in New South Wales and the ACT.

"Under Andrew's chairmanship, we look forward to a collaborative approach to grow the game in New South Wales and the ACT," Mr Shepherd said.

"The introduction of the GIANTS has resulted in a cumulative uplift in crowds, membership, TV ratings and participation in AFL in NSW and the ACT, something Andrew understands.

"While we will always be fierce rivals on the field, there is a lot we can do together off the field to continue to develop the code.

"The Sydney Swans have done a lot of important work to develop the game in NSW over the past 30 years and have achieved significant on-field success over the past decade in particular.

"The GIANTS are now seeking to build on that legacy with the work we are doing in Western Sydney and Canberra and together we can achieve a lot to grow the game at all levels."
