Craig Moller will become the latest former GIANT to pull on the green and gold when he debuts for the Australian national basketball team on Friday.
The 203cm former ruck turned power forward will make his first appearance, against Iran in Melbourne, as the Boomers look to qualify for the 2019 FIBA World Cup in China.
Moller follows in the footsteps of Alex Carey who made his international cricket debut for Australia in January.
The two former GIANTS played together as part of the Team GWS squad in 2010 and 2011 and featured alongside Israel Folau who, after playing 13 AFL games for the GIANTS has gone on to star for Australia’s Rugby Union team the Wallabies.
Moller also played for the GIANTS NEAFL side in 2012 before he was drafted by Fremantle in the 2013 Rookie Draft.
Originally from Sutherland in New South Wales, Moller spent three years at the Dockers, playing one game in 2013.
Since being delisted by the Dockers, the 24-year-old has turned to the NBL playing for the Sydney Kings and Melbourne United where he was part of their Championship winning team in 2018.
