GIANTS midfielder Xavier O’Halloran has added insight into the club’s hiring of James Hird as a leadership consultant.
The former Essendon Premiership captain joined the club in a part-time leadership consultancy role earlier this month.
“We met him about a week and a half ago,” said O’Halloran on RSN Breakfast Club.
“He’s been in a fair bit, which is really good for us.
“He still has quite a big presence without saying or doing anything.”
“He’s given really good advice in terms of not only footy, but things that he’s seen and done in and out of the footy world.
“He’s also been involved with things on track as well. It’s been priceless.”
O’Halloran played 17 games in 2021, including three games as the injury substitute, in his third year at the GIANTS since being drafted at pick 22 in the 2018 NAB AFL Draft.
“After spending three years in the system now, I’m becoming a lot more comfortable and certainly know what I need to do and what’s required of me to play games,” he said.
