The GIANTS congratulate VFL coach Luke Kelly on his appointment as Port Adelaide’s assistant midfield coach for the 2022 season.
Kelly joined the club in 2017 after five years at the Western Bulldogs as a performance analyst.
He became the club’s defensive coordinator in 2018 before moving into a full-time coaching role in the development space ahead of the 2019 season.
Kelly was awarded the prestigious Phil Walsh Memorial Scholarship for 2020 and spent the last two seasons coaching the club’s second-tier program.
GIANTS General Manager of Football Jason McCartney congratulated Kelly.
“Luke’s made a wonderful contribution to our club, particularly with our younger players and getting them ready to step up and perform at the AFL level,” McCartney said.
“While disappointed to lose someone of his calibre, he was presented with an exciting opportunity to move up to an assistant coaching role at the Power and we couldn’t stand in his way.
“We wish him all the best for the future.”
