The GIANTS are excited to welcome Craig Jennings to the club as a part-time Opposition and Strategy Coach.
Jennings joins the club with 20 years’ experience in the industry in opposition analysis and strategy. He has previously worked at Essendon, the Western Bulldogs and Melbourne.
Jennings is in the final stage of completing the Level 4 AFL Coaching program and will remain based in Melbourne.
After re-joining the club in January this year, Craig Lambert will also continue with the GIANTS in a part-time role.
Lambert returned as a Development Coach in 2021 after working alongside wife Melissa as the club’s inaugural Player Welfare Managers from 2012-2015.
Lambert joined the team full time in Melbourne for the back half of the season and played a valuable role assisting as a line coach.
GIANTS General Manager of Football Jason McCartney said:
“We’re delighted to welcome Craig Jennings to the club for the 2022 season,” he said.
“Our coaching staff have done a great job, particularly across the past two seasons where the club has had to be on the road for large periods of time.
“We know the entire industry were hit with a recalibration of Soft Cap levels last year, so we’re excited by the opportunity to continue to improve our football department with Craig Jennings’ appointment and Craig Lambert continuing in his role.”
Meanwhile, former AFL Development Coach Damian Truslove has returned to the club to take up a key role in the GIANTS’ AFLW program.
Truslove was a Development and Skills Acquisition Coach with the men’s program from 2016-2019 before taking up a NAB League Head Coaching role with the Bendigo Pioneers.
He returned to Sydney earlier this year with the GIANTS delighted to welcome him as the AFLW Senior Assistant Coach.
Truslove joins Darren Ratten and Jon Vlatko as assistant coaches under Alan McConnell for the upcoming season.
