The GIANTS’ breakout season has been recognised with a competition high 16 players receiving votes during Monday night’s Brownlow Medal count.
Stephen Coniglio led the way with 17 votes as co-captain Callan Ward again caught the eye of the umpires, polling 12 votes.
Ward has now polled 61 career votes, with 55 of them coming in his time as a GIANTS player.
10 GIANTS received Brownlow Medal three votes as best on ground, while Josh Kelly, Phil Davis, Zac Williams, Jonathon Patton and Rory Lobb all received the first votes of their careers.
Lobb finished third in the 2016 Woolworths Mark of the Year behind winner Majak Daw and Joe Daniher.
