CANBERRA

The GIANTS have a long and proud history in Canberra, having firmly established a footprint in the nation's capital from the club's inception.

In December 2022, the Club announced a landmark long-term partnership extension with the ACT Government which would see the GIANTS remain as Canberra's team through to at least 2032.

You can read more about the partnership extension, here.

The club committed to playing at least three AFL matches in Canberra each season while also playing pre-season and an AFL Women's match at Manuka Oval.

The GIANTS have had many iconic moments at Manuka Oval over the years including the club's first-ever win - coming in round seven, 2012 against the Gold Coast Suns.

Many GIANTS players have also hailed from or spent time in the nation's capital and surrounding areas including Phil Davis, Harry Himmelberg and Tom Green in the AFL program as well as AFLW stars Britt Tully, Jessica Allan, Jodie Hicks, Ellie Brush, Emily Pease and Tarni Evans.

JOIN US FOR THREE BLOCKBUSTER AFL GAMES IN 2024

Canberra fans will have three GIANT games to attend at Manuka Oval in season 2024, with games against a pair of 2023 finalists as well as an emerging Hawthorn side.

The GIANTS will begin their 2024 season in Canberra in round five in a red-hot Saturday afternoon clash with fellow 2023 finalist St Kilda.

The matchup will be the first time the sides face off since the GIANTS ended the Saints’ season early with a spirited 24-point elimination final win over Ross Lyon’s men at the MCG last year.

The round five fixture will be the first time the Saints have played in the nation’s capital since 2022.

Next up the GIANTS will host 2023 Grand Finalist Brisbane in a monster ANZAC Day clash under the bright lights of Manuka Oval in round seven.

The blockbuster fixture will be just the second time the GIANTS have taken to the field on Anzac Day following their 2015 matchup with Gold Coast in 2015 at the same venue.

The trio of Canberra clashes will finish with a round 21 matchup with the Hawks with whom the GIANTS had two epic battles against in season 2023, with just 15 points separating the sides across both games.
