Forward Sam Reid has been elevated to the GIANTS’ primary list with midfielder Paul Ahern placed on the long term injury list. 

Reid, 26, was added to the GIANTS rookie list in November after working as a Development Coach at the club and captaining the GIANTS’ NEAFL side for the past two years.

He was previously on the club’s senior list from 2012-2013 and played 14 games for the GIANTS following 10 games at the Western Bulldogs.

Reid has had an impressive start to the NEAFL season for the WSU GIANTS, kicking 8 goals in the opening three rounds and averaging 23 possessions and five tackles per game.

After a promising debut season on the GIANTS list in 2015, Ahern ruptured his ACL in February.

The 19-year has diligently gone about his rehab and completed his first running session this week.
