One of Australia’s hottest musical acts, Thirsty Merc, will perform on the Virgin Australia Stage to kick off the 2016 season at the GIANTS’ first home game at Spotless Stadium.

The GIANTS' round six match against Hawthorn on Saturday, April 30 will include a half-time show by Thirsty Merc as well as a post-match performance during kick-to-kick on the purpose-built stage just metres from the field.

Thirsty Merc are one of Australia’s finest live acts and their songs have become part of the fabric of Australia’s music DNA.

The trio of Rai Thistlethwayte, Phil Stack and Matt Smith have been members of Australia’s musical landscape for over 10 years with three critically acclaimed albums and over 200,000 album sales under their belt.

Their hit songs include My Completeness, Someday, Someday, In the Summertime and 20 Good Reasons.

The GIANTS strive to deliver the best family entertainment at their world class home ground with Thirsty Merc the first announcement in a huge entertainment schedule for the 2016 season.

Last year a host of top performers took to the Virgin Australia Stage, including Justice Crew, DJ Will Sparks, Shannon Noll, Nathaniel and Diesel.

The GIANTS will continue to offer fans a unique match-day experience at Spotless Stadium.

There will be kick-to-kick after every home game, post match functions at our training base, bigger-than-ever inflatables in the Fan Zone as well as a new Toyo Tires Game On! activation.

There’s also a first-timers marquee - where people can learn about the game if they haven’t attended before - and a wide range of roving performers and characters.

The GIANTS return to their home ground at Spotless Stadium for the first time in 2016 with the blockbuster clash against the three-time reigning premiers Hawthorn. In the corresponding game last year, the GIANTS defeated the Hawks by 10-points at home.

A family pass starts from just $48 for two adults and two kids and includes FREE train travel to and from the game.
