Tickets to the Battle of the Bridge, Sydney Derby V, at Spotless Stadium on March 15 go on sale to the general public today.

GIANTS Chief Executive David Matthews said tickets were already selling fast after they went on sale to GIANTS and Swans members a week ago.

"This is the biggest AFL game in Sydney this year and we expect a sell-out so we urge fans to buy their tickets and secure a seat," Matthews said.

"There is no doubt that the cross-town rivalry continues to grow and these games are going to become big events in Sydney.”

"Key forwards provide great entertainment and we have the All-Australian full forward in Jeremy Cameron, whilst AFL fans in Sydney to will get to see Lance Franklin up close in his debut match for the Swans - just two reasons why this is a game you have to be at.

"Former Swans premiership ruckman Shane Mumford is also set to play his first game for the GIANTS against his old side, while our other star recruit Heath Shaw will go to head to head with his brother Rhyce."

It will also be the first time the GIANTS have played the Swans at their home ground, Spotless Stadium at Sydney Olympic Park (formerly known as Skoda Stadium).

"To be able to move away from ANZ Stadium and play at our home ground which was voted by fans as the number one stadium in the AFL is an added attraction," Matthews said.

"We think the 4.40pm timeslot on Saturday also works well for families and we can't wait to see a packed stadium to kick off the 2014 season."
