The GIANTS have stepped up preparations for the 2014 season with match practice at Tom Wills Oval.
It was the most competitive session the GIANTS have done so far this pre-season, with three 20-minute blocks officiated by an AFL umpire.
In an encouraging sign, young GIANTS forward Jon Patton, who is on the comeback trail from a serious knee injury, completed the session unscathed.
New recruits Heath Shaw and Josh Hunt showed their experience down back with Shaw even slotting a couple of goals up forward.
Young defender Zac Williams was prolific rebounding off the backline and 2012 number one draft pick Lachie Whitfield dominated.
2013 All-Australian Jeremy Cameron and last year’s number one draft pick Tom Boyd lined up together in the forward line while number two draft pick Josh Kelly was also busy.
The GIANTS will play an official four-quarter intra-club match at Blacktown International Sportspark from 5pm next Wednesday February 12 and invite all fans to come along.
Entry is free and there is plenty of parking, grandstand seating and food and drink options.
There will be fun for all ages with GIANTS inflatables and our merchandise stall, and don’t forget to sign up as a 2014 GIANTS member at the membership tent and collect your free cap.
If you can’t make it, the whole match will be live streamed on our website with full commentary and some special guests, while we will also keep you updated on Facebook and Twitter throughout the evening.
